I am honoured to share with you below the gist of what my friend Emily spoke into me the other day. From New York to Colorado she lifted me up; we cried together, we ranted about Crohn's together (the disease that both she and Ryan walk through), and as a fellow sufferer she spoke beautiful truth.
Here is her advice to anyone in a season of health crisis or ongoing chronic illness.
Have grace on yourself. So much grace. Don't feel like you have to answer the "why's" to anyone in this season. Feel freedom to not know the purpose in this season. Purpose will present itself when purpose is ready.
Give yourself grace to be angry or frustrated. That in not knowing, the unknowns aren't because you're failing. Take the pressure off of yourself to figure it all out right now.
If you know Jesus as your Savior and hope, then you are in fact already living out the Grand Purpose. We are bound for eternity and living a life that points to Him. For now, in this season, that is all the purpose you might need.
Have grace on yourself. On your spouse. Yes, have abundant grace.
With JOY,
Ryan & Carly
